The author does not skirt around real, relatable issues that children contend with. Like her other books, Joy helpfully adds discussion questions relating to each chapter at the back of the book. I can highly recommend this as a book for children to read themselves, and as a family resource to discuss some really big things.

Kai’s adventures as a new Christian are engaging and inspiring, told in contemporary language and with excellent questions at the back of the book. In this episode Kai has a difficult choice to make and learns how to rely on God when everyone else seems to misjudge him.
